Mysore :Indian democracy is built on a rock solid foundation which and can withstand any amount of shock, said senior journalist Dinesh Amin Mattu.
Participating in a state level seminar, he said the 2014 Lok Sabha election results have come as a shocker for most people. Analysing the victory of the BJP, he said the desire of the voters to see a change resulted in such a huge win for the party.
“The glorification of development led to the win of Modi. The Congressmen always targeted the communalism of Modi but did not try to break into the Gujarat Model of Development which was much publicised. Modi registered a win with the help of Sangh Parivar, mainly RSS,” he opined.
One reason for the Congress debacle is that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s words had a say in the first five years of the ten year rule of the Congress. In the later years it were the words of Sonia which were final,” he observed.
‘The Media has today turned into a business. During elections the media projected Modi as a leader,’ Dinesh Amin Mattu further said.
