Mandya: The Congress activists aggrieved over MP Ramya for visiting her friend BJP leader Manjula in Kodishettipura village of Srirangapattana.

MP Ramya’s tour was scheduled to thank the voters of Srirangapattana taluk.  She was supposed to visit Sabbanakuppe and Kodishettipura villages.  The Congress party workers were ready with great amount of preparations in this regard.

Meanwhile, MP Ramya had been to the home of Manjula who was her mother’s friend living in Sabbanakuppe on Monday.  It has angered the Congress leaders and activists, whi expressed their displeasure when Ramya arrived in Kodishettipura village.  Ramya said, “I knew Manjula before my entry into politics and know her since childhood.  She is my mother’s friend.  The visit to Manjula’s home is my personal matter, you are not suppose to question me.”  This also angered the workers further.

The Congress workers said that they are working for the party.  It’s not proper to visit anyone without informing them.  Ramya replied, “People have voted me and I have become MP.  If in case, I lay a road and I object to use the same by other political party.  Will you do that?” The verbal abuse continued, while the Congress workers hurled slogans against her.  The taluk Congress president S L Lingaraju calmed the activists and the issue got over.
