Mumbai: The 26th edition of International Kite Festival in Mumbai for the third consecutive year was held recently.
The event was inaugurated by Dinesh Dasa, Board of Directors of Gujarat Tourism and Shaina NC from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the Priyadarshni Park and Sports Complex, Malabar Hill in the city.
More than 40 kitists from India and different countries like France, Russia, Ukraine, Malaysia, Vietnam and Estonia participated in the festivities and indulged in kite-flying all throughout the day.
Kamlesh Patel the chairman of TCGL said that this year will witness a milestone as we celebrate the Silver Jubilee edition of Gujarat’s flagship event- the International Kite Festival. This year’s festival will be bigger than ever, covering 9 different locations including Ahmedabad, Delhi and several new destinations like Dhordo(White Rann), the beautiful Mandvi beach, Rajkot, Bharuch, Vadodara, Saputara.”
It is learnt that other cities including Saputara and Rajkot will host the festival on Jan 9 while Bharuch and White Rann/Kutch Mandvi will follow-on the 10th. Vadodara will host the festival on Jan 11. The 26th International Kite Festival will culminate in Ahmedabad, at the Sabarmati River Front on Jan 12-13.
