Mangalore: The inspirational endowment of the mentally challenged children was showcased during ‘Saanidhya Utsav’, a cultural programme organized as part of ‘Vision-2014’, an art and craft exhibition, which was inaugurated on Saturday April 19 at Kadri Park, by Mayor Mahabala Marla.
The event was organized by Saanidhya Residential School and Training Centre, Shaktinagar in association with the trustees of the Shree Ganesha Seva Trust for Exceptional Persons.
The programme ‘Vision-2014’, featured items prepared by the Saanidhya inmates. The programme began with a formal stage function after which different items prepared by the mentally challenged students of Saanidhya were exhibited and were also available on sale. The exhibition was inaugurated by AJ Sharma of Lion’s Club.
The guest of honour for the programme was NV Sambasiva Rao, prop. Of Premium foods, New Mangalore along with Dr Shantharam Shetty MD of Tejaswini Hospital and Sri Darshan Jain MD of Isiri Herbal for the Decennial year 2003 – 2013 Valedictory programme.
Later Jagadish Shetty, famous Gazal artists entertained the gathering which was followed by a Yakshagana performance.
