Rural banking gets top priority: Dr Ramachandra

Mysore: Banking facilities are being extended to more and more rural areas in lines with the objective of the Reserve Bank of India, said Dr. ST Ramachandra, Deputy Chief Manager of Canara Bank.

He was speaking at an interaction meet with candidates appearing for banking exams, at the Cauvery Auditorium of the Karnataka State Open University on April 9, Wednesday. The programme was inaugurated by distributing a free laptop to SD Gayatri, a disabled employee of the University.

Ramachandra further said banks have been offering loans to SC STs and backward classes on preferential basis. He also said loans are being advanced without asking for surety.

On this occasion, he also called upon the candidates to increase their general knowledge. He further said a bank job is an ideal job which also helps an  individual to be in  constant touch with the people.

MG Krishnan, Chancellor of Karnataka State Open University and others were present.
