Miscreants smack KKSV president face with cow dung

Mangalore: Suresh Bhat Bakrabail, district president of Karnataka Komu Souharda Vedike (KKSV) was humiliated by two miscreants on Tuesday April 22, flinging smeared cow dung on his face.

This incident occurred soon after Bakrabail addressed a press meet at Hotel Woodlands on the issue of cattle trader Kabeer’s death at the hands of ANF personnel in Sringeri.

According to the sources, after the press meet, when Bakrabail was standing around and talking with some people, two persons came inside the building and threw cow dung on his face and fled however the KKSV members managed to catch one of them.

The accused has been identified himself as Harish Kumar Shetty a resident of Yedapadav. The motive behind the act, or whether the act was instigated by someone else, is not yet known. However, sources said that it is suspected to be Bajrang Dal’s handwork.

Harish was handed over to Bunder police who arrived at the spot. Police Commissioner Hitendra R, also arrived at Bunder police station and the officials are investigating.

Various parties condemned the act, along with the Welfare party of India – State convenor Mohiddin Khamar and others. Muneer Katipalla, the state vice-president of DYFI condemning the incident said, “The State government has become lenient due to which there is a rise in such ‘Goonda Acts’. He urged that strict action must be taken against this.
