Bantwal: In a shocking incident reported from Kolpe near Urimajalu, a minor girl has been allegedly repeatedly raped by two persons for two successive days in Madikeri. Another person who later tried to take advantage of the girl’s situation has been charged with threatening the girl. All the three are presently said to be absconding.
The accused are Abdul Basheer, a resident of Kodangai Radhukatte and a notorious bike thief, Basheer alias Bakuta Basheer of Bobbekeri and Jabbar of Karyadi. All the three are said to be married men and a case is registered against them in Vittal police station. The car used by the trio to take the girl to Madikeri has been seized by the police.
The incident: The 14 year old girl, a ninth standard student in a local school belongs to the Muslim community and is a resident of Kolpe near Urimajalu. It is learnt, she came across Basheer of Bobbekeri while she had been to a shop at Vittal a few days ago to recharge her cell phone. It is said Basheer who could get her mobile number used to repeatedly telephone her and tried to make her believe that he was unmarried and was in love with her and also began to promise to marry her, allege the girl’s relatives.
Sources said on the night of April 18 at around 8.30 pm, Basheer told the girl that he would come near her house and as the girl came to the roadside he forcibly took her in a car. It is said bike thief Basheer was also in the car, The two then took the girl to Madikeri where they raped her in an isolated place. Later on April 19 night, Basheer asked the girl to come to his house and then raped her. Meanwhile, Jabbar who came to know of this asked the girl to accompany him lest he would kill her, the girl has said in her complaint.
The girl revealed the matter to her parents following which a complaint was lodged in Vittal police station.
It is learnt, the victim hails from a poor family.
