Mangalore :Well-known Konkani author Hema Naik interacted with literary enthusiasts at a Meet the Author programme at Bishops House Hall here on August 31, Saturday and spoke about her childhood, later years of life as well as on how she blossomed into a writer.
Gokuldas Prabhu, Governing Council Member of Sahitya Academy, Delhi in his introductory address, said Hema Naik as a writer has criticized male chauvinism and feudal patriarchy.He also described her as an inspiration for young writers who wanted a change. Naik was able to bring about a new wave of thinking in Konkani literature,he added.
Fr Francis Rodrigues, Editor of Raknno, Krishna Kimbhavane,officer of Sahitya Academy,Mumbai,Melwyn Rodrigues,poet and others were present.
