Gold foil strips worth Rs 8 lakh seized at Mangalore Airport

Mangalore : Officers of Customs at the Mangalore International Airport have seized gold weighing 272.900 grams and valued at Rs 8,02,326, which were concealed in the form of foil strips in a carton. A person from Thekkil in Kasargod named Mohammad Jabir Baikkara (23).He had arrived  by a Jet Airways Flight from Dubai on April 14, Monday.

The operations were conducted under the supervision of Hemen Gogoi, Deputy Commissioner of Customs, Mangalore International Airport. A team led by B Prabhakera Poojary, Customs Superintendent along with Superintendents Sendhil Murugan, BA Kariappa, HG Yogesh and Inspectors G Kumaraswamy, S Ranjan Behera, Santosh Kumar and Ankit Kumar, Superintendents and Havaldars Varadaraju and Sowmya Naik were part of the operation.
