Mangalore: The District Congress Committee has expressed its gratitude to the electorate of Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency for coming out in large numbers to exercise their franchise in the parliamentary elections held on Thursday, April 17.
Speaking to reporters at the Congress Election Office on Friday, April 18, Ibrahim Kodijal, Interim President of District Congress, congratulated the voters for helping DK register 77 per cent polling and also for ensuring a peaceful poll process.
Ibrahim said the Congress party also thanks Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer A.B. Ibrahim for making elaborate arrangements and ensuring that elections are held in a free and fair manner with maximum participation of voters.
He said the party was confident of the victory of its candidate B Janardhana Poojary by a huge margin. On the Congress PM candidate issue, Ibrahim said once Congress wins the election, it would hold discussions with its MPs and choose a suitable PM candidate.
Kallige Taranath Shetty, District Congress Spokesperson, Mahabala Maarla, Mayor, AC Bhandary, TK Sudhir and other party leaders were present.
