Bangalore: The voters around the state have been flaunting the ink mark on the left thumb showing that they had voted. However voters in the Koramangala third block got the ineffaceable mark on their left index figure.
The Bangalore South Congress candidate Nandan Nilekani was also among the Koramangalla third block voters. He along with his family members drew the media’s attention which in turn alerted the Election Commission to direct the polling officer to ink the left thumb.
The polling officer from the booth at Reddy Jana Sangh High School had probably forgotten that the chief electoral officer in Karnataka had instructed that the ink mark should be on the left thumb instead of the normal index finger.Chief Election Officer Anil Kumar Jha has however said it was not an irregularity.
