Mangalore: The ADGP of Law and Order MN Reddy arranged a press meet to review the law and Order in the district at the Mangalore commissioner’s office.

When asked about the illegal cattle trafficking that has been continuously happening in the district over the few days, the ADGP said that police is working to take sufficient measures to prevent the cattle trafficking. Whenever there was an issue, the police have acted according to the law. If any civilian has any information regarding any crime the police force will react immediately and we discourage any civilian or any group taking the law into their hands.

When asked about the influence of the political leaders over this issue he said that the police dept. is not under the influence of anyone and is doing its best in tackling these issues.

When asked about the lack of vacancies in the police dept. across the state, he said that, currently there are 18,000 vacancies in the dept. across the state and in the last month the state govt. has announced the recruitment of 8500 which is expected to resolve the issue temporarily. Currently we are using the modern technology to cover the shortage of policemen.
