Kaup: A 38 year old man died in a hit-and-run case, at NH 66 in Udayavara in front of Halima Sabju convention hall on Monday April 21.
The deceased has been identified as Magadum Ramappa, a laborer by profession who was a resident of Bijapur.
According to the police, a Maruthi Swift Car approaching towards Mangalore from Udupi hit Ramappa and he fell into the turf besides the road.
Police say after the accident the driver fled from the scene, however there was traffic for around 30 minutes.
Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake also visited the spot. A case has been registered at Kaup police station.
