Mangalore:A total of 20 outstanding personalities will be conferred the District level Rajyotsava Awards during the 58th Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations to be held at Nehru Maidan in Mangalore on November 1, Friday.
Deputy Commissioner N Prakash, also the Chairman of the Award Selection Committee released the list of awardees in various categories.
The Rajyotsava Award winners are : Literature : Bola Chittaranjan Das Shetty, B L Nagaraj and ‘Shanthi Prakashana’ (publishing house); Music : Harry D’Souza of Harry’s ‘Silver Band’, Fine Arts : Suresh Attavar; Yakshagana : Leelavathi Baipadithaya; Folklore : Dayanand Kattal and Annu Paravan; Agriculture : Dr D C Chowta; Theatre : Dinesh Attavar; Media : P B Harish Rai and Harish; Social Service : Elias Sanctis; Cinema : Aravind Bolar; Art Patronage : Vijayanath Vittal Shetty; Classical Music : Prakash Devadiga ; Organisations : Maruthi Yuvaka Mandala (Ullal); Kannada service : Dr Annayya Kulal; Environment : Madhava Ullal: Education : Umesh Rao Yekkur.
Additional Deputy Commissioner K Dayanand, MCC Commissioner Ajit Kumar Hegde and District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Pradeep Kumar Kalkura were also present at the press meet.
