Bangalore: KPCC President Dr. G. Parameshwar has rubbished reports stating that the high command was contemplating to replace Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in case the Congress secured less seats than expected in the LS polls.
Speaking to reporters at the KPCC Office on Friday April 18, Parameshwar said it was not proper to think that the CM has to be replaced if the election result was adverse to the party.
“The high command has not issued any dictat on winning a particular number of seats. But we did indeed have instructions to win maximum number of seats,” Parameshwar said.
He further added that as per the high command instructions, the chief minister had travelled the length and breadth of the state as part of his campaigning spree. The mood then was definitely in favour of the Congress, he said.
At the same time, Parameshwar said both himself as well as the chief minister will take responsibility for the results whatever it may be.
He further said the rise in poll percentage in the state would be favourable to the Congress and predicted a win for the party in a minimum of 20 seats.
Parameshwar further alleged that the BJP and JD(S) had entered into a secret pact in Chief Minister’s home constituency Mysore and also in Chamarajanagar just to ensure a setback for the CM in the event of the defeat of the Congress candidates.
