Bangalore :  State Chief Election Officer Anil Kumar Jha has informed that the Election Commission has decided to relax the Model Election Code of Conduct which was in vogue  for the Lok Sabha elections.
Earlier, the State Government had appealed to the Election Commission to relax the code of conduct citing that developmental works would be affected if the code of conduct was in vogue  till the results on May 16.

As per the relaxed rules, ministers can tour their districts, hold  meetings with officials and take certain measures  in case of emergency. They can also inspect the ongoing works, informed Anil Kumar Jha. At the same time the ministers cannot hold meetings with officials deputed on election duty, he said.
