Bangalore: JD(S) leader and former CM HD Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil Gowda will be campaigning for the JD(S) candidate along with his mother from Friday, April 4. It is learnt Nikhil will start his campaigning from Ramanagara represented by his father.
Meanwhile, rumours are agog that the all of a sudden entry of Nikhil Gowda to the election campaigning spree was part of a political strategy of his grandfather and former PM Deve Gowda.
In a way it is imperative for Nikhil Gowda to begin campaigning from Ramanagara to get identified politically as it would also clear the decks for his entry into politics. The strategy is that if Kumaraswamy who is contesting from Chikkaballapura LS constituency wins, he will have to vacate his assembly seat from Ramanagara from where the party reportedly plans to field Nikhil.
It is believed that it was in this backdrop that Nikhil has been asked to campaign for the JD(S) candidate in Ramanagara. For the first two days, Nikhil will campaign in Ramanagara followed by a four day campaigning spree for his father in Chikkaballapura. According to one source, Nikhil has been well trained by Deve Gowda to tackle any situation during campaigning and has also been reportedly asked not to give any special interview to any media.
On the other hand, HD Revanna’s son Prajwal too is campaigning in Hassan along with his father.
