Bangalore: The Central Election Commission has banned leaders and workers of political parties from entering polling booths wearing caps, shawls and clothes bearing party symbols on them.
The Election Commission, which has issued clear cut instructions to political parties in this regard, has further said that any party worker wearing any cap or T-shirt with party symbol will have to leave it aside 100 meters away from the polling booth before casting his vote.
The Central Election Commission has also directed the Chief Election Officers of the state to initiate legal action against those violating this rule. It has further said that the rule will have to be strictly adhered to even during the time of counting of votes.
