BJP suspends corporator arrested on charges of shoplifting

Bangalore: The BJP Corporator from Girinagar ward in South Bangalore, HS Lailtha who was arrested on the charges of shoplifting at Sukh Sagar Mall at Gandhinagar on Tuesday April 22, has been granted bail by the 9th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) court on Wednesday evening.

However the BJP on Wednesday suspended Lalitha from the primary membership of the party. City BJP president Subbanna said that the decision was taken after the corporator was arrested by the Upparpet police on the charge of theft and the order will come into effect immediately.

The BBMP corporator H S Lalitha, was caught red-handed stealing clothes worth Rs. 5,000 from a readymade garment showroom in Gandhinagar. The Upparpet police had arrested her and produced her before the jurisdictional magistrate on Tuesday night.

She had been remanded in judicial custody and shifted to the Bangalore Parappana Agrahara Central Prison.
