BJP Corporator arrested on charges of shoplifting

Bangalore: The BJP Corporator from Girinagar ward in South Bangalore, HS Lailtha was arrested on the charges of shoplifting at Sukh Sagar Mall at Gandhinagar on Tuesday April 22.

Reportedly she is assumed to be a Kleptomaniac –The non- ability to refrain from the urge to steal items for reason other than personal use or financial gain.

As per the police officials, Lalitha had gone shopping at Ashok Apparels, which is located on the basement of the Mall. It is said that she tried on few outfits; however she allegedly returned only two of them.

The shop attendants grew suspicious and confronted her, in-turn she tried to dodge them following which the attendants informed the shop owner. Lalitha reportedly confessed the offense.

Accordingly, HS Lalitha was taken  to Upparpet police station and during interrogation, Lalitha admitted of stealing clothes by wearing one over the other. She also admitted to have conducted such an act earlier in the same   shop.

A case has been registered, Rajendra Kumar, Asst Commissioner of Police said that Lalitha was produced before the jurisdictional court and is under judicial custody.
