Young Indians conduct entrepreneurship summit

Mysuru: With an aim of promoting entrepreneurship in the city and to make Mysuru the first choice for start-ups, Young Indians (Yi), Mysuru chapter organised an entrepreneurship summit “#WhyNotMysuru” at a private hotel recently.

Two ducks die of suspected bird flu in DC’s official residence-1Speaking after inaugurating the event Deputy Commissioner D Randeep said, “It’s time that we harness the fantastic potential of this growing city and converge the resources like education, market opportunities, growing real estate sector and ensure we have a pool of entrepreneurs who can proudly say that they are from Mysuru.” He also added that Mysuru was the first city to have public bicycle sharing service. He suggested that startups must concentrate more on technology, idea, innovation and networking.

CII President Muthukumar gave the example of a kite and mentioned that someone should control the thread so that the kite could go up and fly, thus encouraging second generation entrepreneurs to pursue family business. He suggested that startups should mainly focus on product quality and customer satisfaction.

CII Vice President Arjun Ranga spoke on product innovation and aggressive global marketing. Agarbatthi, yoga, Mysore Sandal which originated from this city have great markets outside contributing to 5 percent of total exports, he noted. “Cross culture marketing would help and joint ventures, partnerships will solve the funding issue”, added Arjun. Renu Srinivasan Executive Director, BNI Mysore also addressed the gathering and spoke about the importance of networking.The speakers invited for this event were first generation entrepreneurs who started from scratch, went on to make a mark in India and are now exploring global waters.

Hatti Kaapi Founder US Mahendar, ID Fresh Food Founder Musthafa P C, Bharathram Lokkur of Lokkur Investment Advisors Private Limited, Deepak Natraj of Aarin Capital, Saanvi Technologies LLC President & COO Yashasvi Shankar inspired a large number participants by sharing their journey and thoughts.
