Work pressure and ill health drives Tahsildar to suicide

Mysuru: A Tahsildar serving at T. Narispur under district In charge minister H C Mahadevappa’s constituency committed suicide unable to bear the work pressure,and poor health condition on July 18.

B. Shankariah (58) took the extreme step last night, it is gathered.

He was transferred to T. Narisipur a year ago and used to commute daily from his residence in Mandya. Shankariah suffering from cardiovascular disease had undergone heart surgery recently.

He had been repeatedly sought transfer owing to poor health during the last 2 months but his request went unheeded. Unable to bear his multitude of official as well as personal problems, he ended his life by hanging at the guest house in T. Narsipur, police sources said. He is survived by one son and 2 daughters.

T Narasipur police are investigating further into the incident.
