Mysuru: The incident of pictures of some students of University of Mysore found on a porn site has taken a rather shocking and shameful twist, with the name of a professor making rounds.A letter written by the students of the University of Mysore to the Registrar states that they may have fallen victim to ulterior motives of a professor of their own department, who wanted to settle scores with them.

The students of Environmental Science, PG Department have named the professor in the letter that has been marked to the HOD as well and have spoken elaborately about the indecent behaviour of the said professor.

Recalling an incident when the professor had threatened the students to settle scores with them, the students in the letter reiterated the words of the professor and said: “I will prove that all of you are characterless girls and I will go to any extent to do the same.”

This, the students said was the reaction of the professor when a bunch of students had confronted him for giving minimum marks to them in the internal examinations.

The students have said that even during the classes, the professor used to crack vulgar jokes and make derogatory remarks, leaving the female students in an awkward situation. “He had forced us to take up projects with him and when we turned down his offer, he turned vindictive,” said the students.

It may be recalled that pictures of ten students of Mysuru University were found on an adult website with their mobile numbers. The persons who visited the site picked the numbers of some of the students and the girls ended up receiving lewd phone calls.

When the shocked students tried to dig deeper into the issue, they found that their pictures and phone numbers were uploaded on the website, which is an online link between the potential clients and sex workers. After bringing the issue to the notice of the HOD and the University authorities, a case was lodged with Jayalakshmipuram police.
