K R Pete: The district police has successfully nabbed two persons in connection to murder of a JD(S) member Harish alias Gunda who was hacked to death during New Year celebration at Murukanahalli here.
Rakshith (23), son of former GP member of Murukanahalli M C Kumar and Yogesh (28), son of small time business man from the same village have been nabbed.
The killing had left the entire village in pall of gloom. Since the culprits went missing, there was immense pressure on the police to act at the earliest and nab the culprits. Since there were all possibilities of the case turning into crisis, the police had beefed up security in the village and four teams were formed to nab the murderers.
The police tapped the phone numbers of relatives and friends of the suspects and traced the two who were hiding outside the state.
However, the reason behind the murder has not been established yet. Interrogation is on.
