Mysuru: M Yogedra (Superintendent of Service Tax, Bengaluru) has won the Gold Medal in 1500 mtrs running race (50+ age category ) in the 49th All India Central Revenue Sports Meet held at Sports Authority of India Athletics Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday.
In most of the events he has participated, Yogendra has won medals. In the keenly contested 1500 mtr event, Yogendra managed to strike gold in 5 min: 14.5 sec followed by Anil and Vishan Kanra who stood second and third at 5:16.2 and 5:19.00 minutes respectively. The medal was presented by Shamlal Prasad, Commissioner of Service Tax, Mumbai. Yogendra is also the secretary of Mysore Athletic Club which conducts sports events and promotes promising athletes in Mysuru.
B K Raje Urs (Superintendent of Central Excise, Mysore) has won gold medal in 5 km walking race in the 40 plus age category.
