Mysuru: The momentum for the by-election for Mysuru City Corporation Ward No 32 to be held on July 2 picked up on June 21.
SBM Manju will be contesting from JDS, K Madesh from BJP while former mayor B K Prakash will be contesting from Congress. All the three belong to Vokkaliga community and filed nomination papers on Wednesday.
The scrutiny of nomination papers will be taken up on Thursday and the last date for withdrawal is on June 24. V Priyadarshini, Assistant Commissioner, Zone 4 is the returning officer for the by-poll. It will be a triangle fight between SBM Manju, Madesh and Prakash.
The seat fell vacant after termination of JDS Corporator C Mahadesh who was convicted in Hunsur double murder case in February 2016. Counting of votes will be held on July 5.
