Mysuru: A cop turned good samaritan by helping in rescuing a passenger after he lost his leg in an accident. The ill-fated passenger slipped off a moving train only to find his leg coming under its wheels at Maddur railway station on April 11.

Kishore, a resident of Guntur was trying to board a train from Maddur to Bengaluru when the unfortunate incident occured. None came to his rescue for 15 minutes despite hearing his cries and severe bleeding.

Biresh, attached to the Railway police force noticed Kishore crying for help in agony surrounded in a pool of blood and rushed to his aid. Biresh could not get an ambulance on time and hence used a stretcher to move the injured Kishore to Maddur Healthcare Centre in an auto. Meanwhile, Biresh accompanied by his colleague rushed to the accident spot to collect the parted portion of the leg. Later, the injured was taken to Mandya District Hospital where doctors administered a bottle of blood. On doctor’s advice Biresh took Kishore to K R hospital in Mysuru for better treatment and stayed back with the injured, well past midnight to ensure improvement in Kishore’s condition. Kishore had boarded the moving train in an inebriated state which led to the accident, it is gathered.

Onlookers found busy taking video clips!

Soon after the accident, certain onlookers ignored Kishore’s cries and none bothered to help him. Most were seen taking video clips and photographs at the accident site. When Biresh arrived at the accident spot, most hesitated and reluctantly helped Biresh in shifting the injured into an auto.

Doctors at KR hospital have ruled out the possibility of joining the parted portion of the limb to the main portion and are treating the injured in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
