Mysuru: A theft accused who has been appearing before the court from last 9 years, consumed poison in front of the judge and attempted suicide. The incident occured at Chennarayapattana court in Hassan.
Jagadish(33) from Piriyapattana is the accused.
Jagadish who is an accused in a theft case which took place 9 years ago was arrested and was granted bail.
From last 9 years he has been appearing before the court and was frustrated over running from and to the court.
On Tuesday, he reportedly gave a letter to the judge and appealed that as many as 5 judges have served in the court but still the case has not been settled. He urged the present judge to settle the case or else give him death sentence.
Judge said that he has no power to grant him dealth penalty and denied for the same, consequently the accused consumed poison. Immediately police rushed him to district hospital and is said to be out of danger.
He was taken into custody for misbehaving with the judge.
