Mysuru: Here is a strict instruction for SSLC students. Those appearing for SSLC examinations should get into the hall, 15 minutes before the bell rings. Even in case of a slightest delay, they will be not allowed to write the exam. Last year, even after the commencement of the exam, students were permitted inside as there was relaxation period for nearly half an hour. But from this year, students will not be entertained after the commencement of the exam.
Across the district 39,323 students including 19831 boys, 19492 girls, 12257 students belonging to SC/ST, 5664 minority students and 153 students with learning disability will be appearing for the exam in 134 centres across the district. Last year 38,499 students appeared for the exam and Mysuru with 85.56 pass percentage stood eighth in the state.
S P Nagaraj, Nodal officer for SSLC exam, Mysuru district said, “To increase the pass percentage and rank we had undertaken various programmes including Gelavu which provided selected question booklets and each teacher was assigned to take care of 40 SSLC students. Apart from this, with the help of physical education teachers before and after the school hours we had conducted motivational sessions to instill self-confidence among students. We have also told the students how to prepare for the exams. With all this preparation, the students can easily score 60 percent. This year we are confident of improving our pass percentage further”.
“Last year the students used to write exams in question paper itself but from this year they will be given separate booklet for writing answers. Hence the students without fail should bring ruler scales to open the answer booklet. Over the years, the students were allowed inside the examination hall even after the commencement of the exam but now the government has decided not to entertain students who come after the start of the exam. Students should be at the examination hall 15 minutes prior to the bell. To check malpractices, flying squads will be pressed. Across the state SSLC exams will begin on March 30 and conclude on April 13. All the exams will start at 9.30 am. Apart from second and third language which will be for two and half hours the rest of the exams will be for three hours” added Nagaraj.
