Somanathapura Temple to come alive in Kuppana Park

Mysuru: Somanathapura Temple will come alive at Kuppana Park as part of the Dasara flower show. A replica of Somanathapura Temple which will be made up of 4.2 lakh roses will be the special attraction during this year’s flower show organised as part of the Dasara festival which will be open for public from September 21 to October 1. The entry fee for flower show has been enhanced from Rs 20 to Rs 25.

Addressing media persons at Kuppanna Park here on September 18, P Shivashankar, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Panchayat mentioned that the structure of the temple would be made inside the ongoing construction of glass house. The replica will be 17 feet tall and 37 feet wide. Apart from this, the other attractions during this year’s flower show includes 12 feet tall Barbie Girl which will be made using orchid flowers, Big Clock Tower, Eiffel Tower, three elephants, peacocks and Dr. B R Ambedkar. During the flower show, Japanese style garden will also be exhibited. The theme of this year’s flower show is constitution, equality and social justice. More than 70 types of flowers and 2.15 lakh flower plants will be exhibited. Apart from this, flowers, vegetables and fruits will be available for sale.
