Rakesh’s final rites were performed by his son Dhawan on Monday at Siddaramaiah’s farmhouse in Katuru. More than 40,000 people attended Rakesh’s last rites.

Siddaramaiah stayed overnight at his residence in Ramakrishnagar. Siddaramaiah left to Bengaluru on Tuesday morning.

It may be recalled that Rakesh Siddaramaiah along with his friends had been to Belgium on a tour. During the course of the tour, Rakesh suffered stomach pain and got admitted to Brussels Antewerp University Hospital. Later it came to light that he was suffering from severe pancreatic problem which forced even Siddaramaiah, his wife Parvathi and younger son Dr Yathindra to go to Belgium on Thursday. Rakesh breathed his last on Saturday, July 30.
