Mysuru: A leopard ended up paying a price (not too heavy!) for trying to steal a sheep from a cattle shed in Gurikarapura in Varuna Hobli on Wednesday night. Presence of mind of the owner of the household Prabhuswamy landed the hunter in “cattle-shed-custody” for the whole night.
The leopard had barged into the shed in the middle of the night to hunt down the sheep. However, the scared sheep managed to get out of the shed and bleated for help. Owner Prabhuswamy who rushed towards the shed found the leopard hiding in the attic.
An equally scared Prabhu ran out and called out to his brother Basavanna for help. Both of them together managed to close the shed door from outside leaving the leopard locked and scared in the dark.
The villagers who came to know of the incident alerted the forest department officials who captured the leopard in a cage after sedating it.
