Mysuru: Recognizing the quality of management education and internationalization at Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD), Mysore, Global accreditation body EFMD has awarded the prestigious EPAS International Accreditation to the institution’s flagship program – Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM). SDIMD Mysore is the first Indian B-school to receive EPAS accreditation.
SDMIMD was awarded with the EPAS accreditation at a special event during the EFMD Annual Conference of 2017 held at Berlin. A formal certificate was handed over by the Director General and CEO of EFMD to D. Surendra Kumar, Vice President of SDMIMD and Dr. N R Parasuraman, Director of SDMIMD.
SDMIMD had sought the EPAS accreditation and was accepted as a candidate in February, 2014. EFMD had laid down several standards and procedures and desired that the institute work on internationalization, corporate linkages and research for being eligible for accreditation.
Accordingly, the institute put in the required efforts with the support and able guidance of its Chairman Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade and Prof. S. Prabahakar, Secretary of SDME Trust. With the active cooperation of the entire team of faculty and staff at SDMIMD, the self-study report was submitted on schedule in July 2016.
A Peer Review Team consisting of four eminent academics from different parts of the world visited the institute in October, 2016 for a thorough overview of the activities and records. At the Board meeting of EFMD held in February, SDMIMD was formally approved for the award of the EPAS accreditation.
The accreditation puts SDMIMD on the global map. With this the Institute hopes to strengthen its international tie-up arrangements and joint research in the months to come using the contact base of EPAS-accredited institutions world-wide.
