Mysuru: Tibetan spritual leader the Dalai Lama has been urged by the Save Universities Forum not to share the dais with ‘tainted’ University of Mysore (UoM) Vice-Chancellor Prof K S Rangappa during the university’s 97th convocation to be held on December 13.

The forum president K S Shivaramu, in a letter has brought to the notice of the Dalai Lama about the corruption cases and criminal case lodged against the Vice-Chancellor. The letter said, “Therefore, the image of a great personality like you, who is an embodiment of integrity and morality of a very high standard, may be sullied by sharing dais with a tainted person like Prof K S Rangappa, whose removal from office is imminent. It will also disappoint the faculty and the general public if the dais is shared by you”.
