Mysuru: BJP’s candiate for Nanjangud constituency V Srinivas Prasad has earned a notice from the Election Officer for publicly handing over a note of Rs 100 denomination to an elderly lady. The act stands in violation of the Election Code of Conduct which is in force in the poll-bound Nanjangud Assembly segment.

Prasad, who was campaigning in Devarasanahalli on Sunday, handed over the money to Puttathayamma. The same was reported in newspapers, following which the Election Officer has issued notice to Prasad questioning him as to why action should not be initiated against him for the violation of the Code.

Prasad is bound to tender his reply for the notice in 24 hours.
