Mysuru: The latest initiate of the Mysuru City police will surely not go down well with the rowdy-sheeters. With an intention to keep track of the rowdy-sheeters the city police has decided to summon individuals listed as rowdy-sheeters to their jurisdictional police station on weekly basis.
While the police intend to keep track of their activities on weekly basis, if the rowdy-sheeters are found to be indulging into any anti-social activities, the police would warn them about the same and make an attempt to bring down the crime rate through such initiatives.
On Sunday, as per the direction from Police Commissioner Dr. A. Subramanyeshwara Rao, the Jayalakshmipuram Police summoned its jurisdiction rowdy-sheeters who are listed at the Police Station and were made to sign a register. Nearly 15 rowdy-sheeters turned up at the police station and met Assistant Commissioner of Police Umesh G. Shet, Jayalakshmipuram Inspector C.M. Ravindra and Sub-Inspector N.R. Bhavya. Next week, such initiatives will be taken up at Lashkar Mohalla and soon the programme will be held in all the police stations of the city.
Dr Rao had recently announced that a 15-member Anti-Rowdy Squad headed by an Assistant Commissioner will be started soon. With several initiatives being lined up, looks like anti-social elements will be made to mend their ways by the cops in the city.
