Mysuru: State Home Minister G Parameshwara paid a visit to Suttur mutt and held secret talks with the Seer Shri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji in the mutt premises on April 5.The meeting gains significance as the Veerashiva vote is critical for party candidate’s victory in the ensuing Gundlupet and Nanjanagud by polls. Suttur Seer has considerable influence over the Veerashiva populace in the region and his decision can tilt the fortunes of candidates in the fray.

Speaking to media, Parameshwara said, “the seer knows the scenario well and the purpose of his visit was to seek his blessings”.

Refuting criticising BJP MLA Suresh Kumar over his stay in Cowshed during campaign, Parameshwara said, “the BJP leader is free to involve in cow shed politics or bathroom politics of his choice and personally he would not stoop to low level in political battle”

Home minister was accompanied by MLA’s Munirathna, Vasu, Somashekar and Byrathi Basavaraju during the meeting with seer.

On his way out, the home minister encountered BJP’s national secretary Santhosh which took few by surprise.

According to reliable sources, a secret meeting of Veerashiva leaders from both the constituencies where by polls are due has already taken place, where decision has been taken on voting for a particular party candidate
