Mysuru: There will not be any room for violence in the name of religion and those resorting to violent ways in the name of caste, colour and religion will be dealt by the ‘arms of law’, warned Mysuru SP D Chennanavar.

Speaking at a citizen connect (Janasamparka ) program at the town hall premises in Bannur, SP Chennanvar said, “none applies for a caste tag before birth, and in such a scenario, resorting to violence is an unhealthy trend. Instead, it is better to live peacefully in the society without giving any room for violence.”

Police resorting to lathi charge is a form of sin, stated SP Chennanavar and urged the citizens not to provoke his force to commit sin by vitiating the atmosphere in the name of caste, colour and religion.

He warned the liquor shop owners supplying liquor to rural areas through unauthorized outlets and agents of cancelling their licenses after filing cases against them.

CCTV cameras will be installed at Bannur bus-station, Cauvery circle and Basaveshwara circle in the town, and those riding two wheelers without helmets will face action, starting February 21, SP cautioned.

In cases where teenagers, under 18 years of age, found riding vehicles including two-wheelers, action will be taken against their parents and guardians, SP warned.

M- Sand will be provided for construction in consultation with the Deputy Commissioner, SP said and reiterated, under no circumstances sand mining will be allowed in prohibited zones.
