Mysuru: Mysuru has been decked up to host the world famous ten-day Dasara fest which will begin from September 21 and conclude on September 30. The district administration is expecting more crowd this year. Already most of the hotels across the city have been booked.
On September 21 at 8.45 PM, litterateur Prof. Nissar Ahmed in the presence of Chief Miniser Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the fest atop Chamundi Hill. The fest attracts people not only from across the country but also from different parts of the globe. Dasara is celebrated to mark the triumph of good over evil. The ten-day festival includes various events-state level Dasara sports, wresting competition, cultural events like Yuva Dasara, musical concerts at Mysuru Palace, flower shows, adventure sports, Dasara exhibition and Ffood Mela. More than 5000 additional security personnel have been summoned for the event.
The fest will conclude on September 30 with Dasara procession where Arjuna elephant will carry the replica of Goddess Chamundeshwari atop a 750 kg golden throne and later for torch light parade at Bannimantap ground.
