Mysuru: Will Mysuru city emerge as cleanest city in the country for third consecutive year? Well, Mysureans are waiting with baited breath to know if the heritage city will maintain its feat.
Mysuru City Corporation Mayor MJ Ravi Kumar and Corporation Commissioner Jagadeesha received call from Ministry of Urban Development Authority in Delhi to receive award in Delhi on May 4. As of now, Mysuru city is in the top three, but whether Mysuru city will top the list in cleanest city tag will only be known on May 4.
According to sources, only top three cities have been invited by the department for the meeting on May 4 where the results will be announced. It can be brought to light that due to untiring efforts of Pourakarmikas and corporation staff members including commissioner, health officers and other staff members led by Mayor, Mysuru city was adjudged cleanest city for the last last two consecutive years. The corporation officials including the pourakarmikas are confident that they will retain the tag and for the third consecutive year Mysuru city will emerge as cleanest city in the country.
When a committee came down to Mysuru to have a look at the work undertaken, the pourakarmikas had gone on a cleanliness spree, contributing in a big way for he feat for two consecutive years.
Speaking to Newskarnataka.com, Municipal Commissioner Jagadeesha said that he is only hoping that the MCC retains the glory because lot of hard work has gone into making what Mysuru city is today in terms of cleanliness.
