Mysuru: Mysore Kabbadi Sports Club will be conducting ‘Mysuru Pro Kabbadi League Mysuru Wadiyar Cup’ at JK Ground from August 26 to 29 on the lines of Pro Kabbadi league. Eight teams will be seen in action and bidding for players will be held on August 6. The matches will be played under flood lights.
Former Mayor Purushotham, honorary president of the club said, “To motivate and promote Kabbadi players across Mysuru division we have decided to conduct Mysuru Pro Kabbadi league. Promising players from Mysuru division including from districts like Chamarajanagar, Mandya, Mysuru, Hassan and Kodagu will be selected through auction which will be held on August 6. Each team will be given maximum Rs 1 lakh and in that they should bid all their players. Based on player’s representation, they have been classified under three different categories, A, B and C”. It can also be brought to light that when Purushotham was Mayor he had conducted All-India Invitation Kabbadi tournament.
The winners will take home Rs 1 lakh and attractive trophies while those who secure second and third prizes will take home Rs 75,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively. Everyday four matches will be held and the matches will begin from 4.30 pm.
