Mysuru: Krishnaraja MLA M.K. Somashekar set an example by shifting a pregnant woman and two others to hospital, who met with an accident on Saturday.

Somashekar, who was going in his car to attend a private program saw crowd at Chamaraja double road. After seeing the gathering he immediately got off his car and went near the crowd.

To his surprise, a pregnant woman and two others who were injured in an accident were pleading for help.

A 32-year-old pregnant woman named Kavya, a resident of Kuvempunagar, her three-year-old child and a friend remained on the road squirming in pain, after an unidentified vehicle hit the two-wheeler in which the trio was travelling.

While there was no Good Samaritan in the crowd, the MLA came as a silver lining to the trio. The MLA and his gunman Mahesh Kumar rushed Kavya and others to nearby hospital for treatment. Somashekar also called upon the public to help the accident victims by shifting them to nearby hospital. Many a times the accident victims die due to severe blood loss. If the accident victims are admitted to hospital immediately after the accident many lives can be saved, he said.

This is not the first time Somashekar has upheld humanity. Few years back, when he was jogging to the foot of Chamundi Hill he shifted an accident victim to hospital and saved his precious life.
