Mysuru: The mystery surrounding the missing snout of tiger ‘Prince’ was solved on Thursday with the arrest of three persons staying at Channamallipura village near the Bandipur Tiger Reserve.

T Heeralal, Director, Bandipur Tiger Reserve confirmed that Soma, Bomma and Pinniswamy from Channamallipura chopped off the snout from the dead tiger and extracted the teeth to sell to the poachers.

The trio who were gracing cattle were unaware that the dead tiger was Prince. They just extracted the teeth, which is in great demand in the market and sold one of the teeth to Pinniswamy for Rs 1000.

Bomma and Soma are habitual offenders. The trio was produced before Chamarajanagar court which has sent them to judicial custody. It may be recalled that Prince was found dead at Lokkare village on April 2.
