Mysuru: District In-charge Minister H C Mahadevappa launched the paperless office operations (e-office) in the district revenue department under Bhoomi registry by clicking the laptop button on January 20.
In the first phase, 15 deputy commissioner offices, 25 assistant commissioner offices and 25 taluk offices will go paperless in the entire state.
Speaking on the occasion after launching e-office, the minister said, “The move will improve ease of governance and expedition of the administration process. People will benefit largely as the files can be tracked at the click of a button”.
The documents will not be lost over a period of time as they will be scanned and stored in digital format thereby eliminating the need to store and protect hard copies.
The software can be accessed in Kannada through Unicode and features like e-mail and SMS alerts are also available.
Deputy Commissioner D Randeep and officials from revenue and other departments were present on the occasion.
