Mysuru: The city mayor flagged off the three-day Farmers’ Dasara by riding on a bullock cart. This is a platform for farmers and their families to celebrate Mysuru Dasara.
An attractive procession which had the participation of farmers and women marked the start of the events here today at the palace entrance.
Decorated bullock carts and oxen were led in the procession, which went past K R Circle before culminating at J K Grounds, the venue of the expo on the theme of agriculture, horticulture, milk production and sheep breeding.
Mayor M J Ravikumar called upon the government to dedicate this year’s Dasara for farmers’ while expressing happiness over abundant rainfall received during the last fortnight.
Cultural teams beating drums and sheep breeding farmers were an added attraction during day’s event.
