Live streaming of Gajapayana through tourism website

Mysuru: District administration which is going all out in its effort to make Gajapayana event-the march by Dasara elephants, more grand this year is trying to live stream the programme through the tourism website.

To reach out to more people, D Randeep, Deputy Commissioner who from beginning is very much interested to make Gajapayana more eventful is also having talks with the tourism officials for live streaming of Gajapayana event which is scheduled to be held at Nagapura camp in Hunsur on August 12. Earlier it was scheduled for August 14 but due to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s meeting with ministers on August 14 following which District Minister H C Mahadevappa too wouldn’t be able to take part in the Gajapayana event on that day, it was advanced to August 12. After inaugurating Gajapayana, Mahadevappa will also launch Dasara website.

Foreigners and cultural troupes in Dasara procession:

To make Dasara procession more colourful and attractive, D Randeep also had talks with other state officials and those from Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). The foreigners present during the time of Dasara in India including the cultural troupes that visit ICCR are expected to take part in the Dasara procession.

Dasara promotion and awareness at Airport and Railway station:

“More Dasara promotional activities will be taken up at Mysuru airport and railway station so that people will come to know of various related activities”, added Randeep.
