Mysuru: “It is impossible to fix a time limit to probe the case of Gauri Lankesh murder. SIT has gathered vital glues and the investigation is in progress”, opined Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy.
Speaking to media at SP’s office while taking part in the South Zone Police Officers’ meeting in the city, Reddy said, “It is impossible to set a time limit to investigate such a case”, and added, “The state is peaceful and police have been told to take strict measures against anti-social elements.”
“Police force has been asked to keep a tight vigil on lusty men on the prowl as well as street urchins inciting trouble. There is a need to curb meter interest business as well as enforce strict timings for closure of bars apart from making efforts to streamline night patrolling”, Reddy stated.
Police have been asked to adopt a citizen friendly approach and register FIRs in quick time, Reddy said.
Reacting on advisor to the Home Minister Kempaiah’s absence and interference in his ministry’s functioning, Ramalinga Reddy said, “I take suggestions and advise from several quarters including visual media which holds hour long discussion and the editorials which deal with issues of concern in detail everyday”, cleverly eluding the the query posed.
