Mysuru: Close on the heels of state BJP President B S Yeddyurappa launching scathing attack on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of paying kickback to Congress top brasses to make sure that he remains in power, the CM reacted saying that a person like BSY who is facing charges ranging from corruption to land grab to illegal mining does not have the right to speak about others.

Kambala: Government will take ordinance route if needed, says CM-1

Speaking to reporters in Mysuru on Sunday, the CM said that if the BJP was not in power at the Centres, then BSY would have been behind bars and that listening to what Yeddyurappa has to to say is like listening to ‘Bhagavadgeetha’ sermon from a devil!

“The charges and allegations made by BSY are baseless. He is a liar who already has 15 FIRs registered against him. He is doing all these irrelevant statements for the sake of publicity and to tarnish the image of the government. He is not supporting his allegations with any evidence,” he said ridiculing BSY for his earlier prediction that two to three ministers from state cabinet would resign, which turned out to be false.

Talking about the IT raids that are going on in full swing, the CM said that the raids are politically motivated as the IT sleuths are targeting only Congress ruled states.

“Does that mean there is no money in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Haryana? Why no raids are being undertaken in these states? The ongoing raids by IT officials clearly indicate that it’s all politically motivated and misuse of power,” he alleged.

With regard to raid at the residence of Ramesh Jarkiholi, the CM said that after the raid the news of Rs 150 cr being seized from the residence was out. However, to know the truth, the CM said that he had written to the IT department to confirm the amount that was seized from Jarkiholi’s residence, to which, the reply given by the IT sleuths was that probe was still on and hence the seized property cannot be put into numbers.

“When this is the case how come Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his election rally in Punjab can tell that a raid during congress minister residence unearthed unaccounted wealth worth over Rs 150 crore? These allegations clearly indicate that it is also political vendetta by BJP party,” the CM said.
