Mysuru: Evidently irked by persistent tirades of BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has thrown an open challenge to the former to prove the allegations.
“B S Yeddyurappa has to prove the allegations. If he does, then I will instantly step down from the position of the Chief Minister, but if he fails, then he has to tender a public apology and also retire from active politics,” challenged the CM thundering that he will expose BSY during the Assembly polls by putting out details of Yeddyurappa’s present assets as against his assets when he lived in Shivamogga several years ago.
“I will also expose his misdeeds when he was the CM of the state,” said Siddaramaiah retorting to Yeddyurappa’s recent allegation that MLC Govindaraju’s diary states that Rs 65 crore was paid to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in connection to the steel flyover project.
“I do not know about the diary or what exactly is written in the diary. It is Govindraju who should shed light on the same. If writings on diaries are important then some corporate diary did talk of Narendra Modi taking money from Sahara Group when he was the chief minister of Gujarat,” said Siddaramaiah adding that such evidences did not have a stand in the Supreme Court.
Talking about Yeddyurappa, the CM said that a person who held the post of the chief minister must talk responsibly. “BSY is making such baseless allegations only keeping upcoming by-election for Nanjangud and Gundulpet,” he said further adding that the IT raids in the state are mainly aimed at denting image of the Congress party and its leaders.
