Mysuru: Minister for Forest and Ecology Ramanath Rai has said that a high-level probe will be placed into the Bandipur-Nagarahole National Park forest fire episode, which claimed life of one forest staff.Speaking to reporters after visiting the forest staff injured in the episode in a hospital here on Tuesday, Rai said that there is suspicion of foul play in the forest fire episode and hence a high-level inquiry will be ordered.
Stating that there is acute shortage of staff in the forest department, he said that the vacancies will be filled in phases.
Meanwhile, Rs 25 lac compensation was announced for family of Murugappa, who was charred to death in the raging forest fire.
